In 1998, I was inspired to purchase this domain for an as-yet-unknown business. Over the years I tried repeatedly to create a business around the name Inspired Life.
The most prominent attempt was from 1999-2005 when a company I founded, Inspired Life Development, built a digital library of motivational, inspirational and self-improvement content. At the time it seemed an obvious thing to do because I had been representing motivational speakers and helping them sell their speaking events, books, and audio materials.
However, in the background was this ‘whisper’, the still, small voice of a mighty God who was calling me to speak to his people through the site. Our attempts to build a million-dollar digital online marketplace died a painful death.
In 2009-10, I heard God call me again to build Inspired Life. I inquired of him if I was to gather up the speakers and try a similar business model. He told me plainly: “NO – self-help is no help at all; only I can help them.”
I have pondered and prayed over how God wanted this domain to be used and eventually it became clear that I was to use my writing abilities and my love for Jesus to share something of value to believers (and non-believers) regularly.
I’d promised him I would but failed again and again to begin. In the beginning of 2017, when things in my life were difficult and seemingly getting worse, I heard the voice again. “What about Inspired Life? You promised me…”
In February I began to write. What you’ll find on these posts is more channeled from Holy Spirit than it is written from my abilities. I’m discussing the different parts of a Christ-centered life including elements of my own struggles with substance abuse.
If you find life a bit bumpy – and sometimes hard… If you need a positive word… If the rhythm of your heart identifies with living an Inspired Life, I’m writing and sharing these for you. Please comment and share when the spirit moves you to.
God’s richest blessings to you,
Scott A Dennison
